Our story

Why I built Scrumpy

A scrum board that shows everything you need and nothing you don't, built by someone who spent ten years wishing it existed.

One board

Everything you need on a single screen. Nothing you don't.

Flat pricing

Per editor, every feature included. No tiers to decode.

Free viewers

Unlimited view-only seats for stakeholders and clients.

Ten years of standups

I've been a backend developer for over ten years, mostly at smaller companies. Often enough I also wore the product owner hat. In all that time, nearly every team I worked on ran on Jira.

Don't get me wrong, Jira is a powerful tool. But to me it always felt slow and dated. It locks you in, and it's easy to overpay because the products, tiers and add-ons are hard to fully understand.

Linear got closer

That's why Linear became Jira's biggest competitor, and rightfully so. It feels far more modern and responsive, and I migrated my teams over to it.

But it still wasn't quite what I wanted. As a developer and as a PO, the board is what matters most to me. I want to see as much as possible with the least effort. In Linear, once you have six or seven lanes you start scrolling sideways, or hiding columns, which is worse. And if you want more than five teams, you're pushed onto a pricier tier. Why?

If you're weighing up the options, here's how Scrumpy compares to Jira and to Linear.

So I built the board I wanted

Scrumpy shows everything you need on one board, and nothing you don't. It's fully customizable, including auto-assigning stories when you move them between lanes.

Minimal effort, maximum productivity. A modern age deserves modern tools.

Pricing that respects you

You pay per editor. Unlimited stories, unlimited teams, every feature included. No tiers to decode. You can see exactly what that costs on the home page.

Does your boss want to see progress but nothing else? Does a stakeholder need to stay in the loop? Add a viewer account for free, as many as you want. Invite your whole company if you like. Simple bills, simple boards.

Missing something? Just ask

Scrumpy is small and independent, and that's the point. There's no roadmap committee between you and the person building it. If a feature you need is missing, tell me. I read every request, and the good ones get built.

Email support@scrumpy.it with anything you're missing. It genuinely shapes what I build next.

Your data is always yours

Independent does not mean risky. You can export everything you put into Scrumpy at any time, so there is no lock-in, whatever happens. Your data lives on Laravel Cloud in the EU, over encrypted connections and with regular backups.

May scrum never make you grumpy again.
